The Eerie Silence: Renewing Our Search for Alien Intelligence

The Eerie Silence: Renewing Our Search for Alien Intelligence - Paul Davies Davies is extremely knowledgeable on the topic of the search for alien intelligence, and this book is comprehensive. It's also a call for us to be less limited in what we're looking for to define life, and I'm all for that. So for someone who doesn't know much about this topic and is interested, I'd say that this book is recommended. It comes with the caveat that Davies isn't a great writer for the masses, though. And he scoffs at anyone who has disagreed with him at any point in history. And he sorta comes off as a conceited jerk. But as long as you're willing to laugh at him (and hey, who can scoff as well as a Brit?), then you'll get a lot out of the book. Don't let him turn you against scientists in general, though. Please.
