I read this in preparation for reading highly anticipated [b:H is for Hawk|18803640|H is for Hawk|Helen Macdonald|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1394343876s/18803640.jpg|26732095], sort of like reading the book before the movie, only reading the book before the book. And it's a gem in and of itself. A wonderful piece of reflection on training a hawk, which requires almost inhuman patience, in a time of upheaval in Europe and the world.
