Eh. 2.5 stars or so for me, meaning "it was okay", as goodreads indicates. There's nothing really new here, and the writing styles (varying greatly from planet to planet) are self-indulgent. The author is playing around with ideas, using as many dramatic verbs as possible, trying out personification of rocks and planets, a little historical fiction... This is interesting and pretty (language-wise), but not all that great. Actually, in places it reads like a decent script for a decent documentary, but it would need the pictures to be very good.Anyway, okay introduction for someone who just wants to think about the planets for a while and doesn't know much about them yet.
