Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet: A Novel

Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet: A Novel - Jamie Ford A good, sweet story and an easy read. The writing style is simple but effective, and the historical fiction part of it was convincing. I enjoyed it a great deal. The plot turned on some rather unlikely coincidences -- well, actually it didn't. They happened, but they didn't have to for the story to have the same. He didn't just miss marrying the love of his life; he missed it by seconds. She was standing across the street when he spontaneously, almost accidentally, proposed to someone else. And the way he moves in and out of the camps...

Anyway, the characters were convincing, even if the details of the plot weren't. I did enjoy it.
